DIVERSITY – sculpture concept 2021 – Carrara marble

In 2020 I have been working on the project “biegen statt brechen” (“bending instead of breaking”). I have dealt with this topic with the help of sketches, material studies, photomontages and models. In 2021 I now implemented one of these designs in a large-scale sculpture in marble. The illusion of bending the white marble creates a “diverse sculpture”, beyond an assumed reality. With my work, I want to raise people’s awareness of the close look at the diversity of life, resulting processes of change and its many opportunities. The resulting work therefore bears the title “Diversity”. You can experience the working process of the creation in this short slideshow.
